Spell: Candle Spell for Women

Color of the Day
Incense of the Day

Today is International Women's Day. To strengthen your relationships with the women in your life and to focus on awareness of women's issues, begin by carving the symbol for "woman" into a purple or white votive candle. Place appropriate symbols on your altar, such as goddess statues, pictures of women you wish to honor, etc.

As the candle burns, consider all the ways you can acknowledge the women in your life. Research issues of concern today, and take some action or make a donation. You can also show appreciation for the women in your life with a kind gesture or gift.

In addition, if you're a woman, do something special for yourself today. As you light the candle, chant:

"To those who suffer, bring relief,
alleviate their pain and grief.

Satisfy all those in need,
honor them by word and deed."

Allow the candle to burn out safely.
