All you need for this ritual is an ivy plant or two. Traditionally used for good luck, protection, and fidelity, ivy is often carried by brides. Simply exchange your ivy with another person as you speak the chant together. You can use potted plants, pieces of vine, or even single leaves. The benefit of using potted plants is that you can keep them in your home or plant them in your garden. Here is the chant:
"For loyalty and love, This tenacious vine, Holding fast in place, While continuing to climb. Leaf of love and strength, Mark this sacred time. Today we make a pledge Blessed by the divine." |
