Melissa officinalis, otherwise known as lemon balm, is a calmative herb. It soothes digestion and reduces anxiety, which is great for relieving stress on a hot summer day. Lemon balm is a member of the mint family, so if you plant it, it may try to take over your garden!
To make bewitching iced tea, combine one teaspoon dried lemon balm per cup of water in a Mason jar. Place a lid on the jar and shake. Set the jar outside on a sunny morning and say: "Lemon balm, green and strong, stir this spell all day long. Before the sun, high and bright, relieve my thirst when day turns to night." In the evening, strain the tea and pour into glasses filled with ice. If you like your iced tea sweet, add honey. If you're feeling frisky, add a splash of whiskey to the mixture. Sit back, sip, and enjoy! |
