Spell: A July Abundance Ritual

Color of the Day
Incense of the Day

Now we’re past the solstice. The hours of daylight dwindle, but it’s still summer. The sun and earth provide us with food and plenty. This ritual helps us give thanks at this bountiful time of year.

Begin this ritual at sunset. Drape your altar with green or purple fabric. Place two purple candles on the altar, one for the sun and one for the earth. Place one glass of sweet red wine or grape juice on the altar as well. Safely light each candle, then say:

The Sun’s rays begin to dim,
But still we honor him.
The Goddess blesses us with her yield.
Now we honor the bounty of the field.

Take one sip of wine or juice. Pour the remaining wine on the ground outside. Snuff out each candle one at a time. You may use the candles for other rituals. Think of this ritual as you shop for groceries.
