Spell: Banishing What Doesn’t Serve You

Color of the Day
Incense of the Day

While we’re still in the early part of December and entering the last phase of the calendar year, it’s the perfect time to begin thinking about what you don’t want to bring into the next year with you, especially with the Sun still in Jupiter-ruled Sagittarius, governing cleansing and purification.

Throughout the month, as ideas come to you, write something you don’t want to take into your life moving forward. It could be a less-thanideal personal quality or trait, a bad habit, or a situation that stresses you out or makes you unhappy. Write each idea on an individual slip of paper and place them in a small jar. Throughout the month, as you drop a slip of paper into the jar, say:

Burden and vice that I place in this jar,

Soon the distance between

us will be far.

On New Year’s Eve, empty out the jar and read each slip of paper silently to yourself. Ritually burn the papers in a bonfire, your fireplace, or a firesafe dish such as a cauldron.
