Spell: Completing the Magical Circuit

Color of the Day
Incense of the Day

In Qabalistic thought, Malkuth is the plane of form where energies coalesce into material substance. Occultist Dion Fortune taught that bringing your magic into Malkuth helps to ground the energy, completing a circuit, if you will, that might otherwise be left to dissipate and cause unwanted side effects, such as "bad luck" or strange occurrences.

Your body is a wonderful vehicle for grounding energy in Malkuth, and this can be as simple as making ritual gestures in the air with your hand or writing a spell on paper rather than completing the steps in your mind.

Let's do this now: Write down something you want on a piece of paper. Imagine that you already have it—what does it look, sound, smell, feel, and perhaps even taste like? and send that imaginative energy into the paper. Now light a candle on a heatproof surface or use a bonfire and burn the paper safely, wafting the smoke up into the cosmos with your hands, sending forth the energy of your spell. Then put out the candle or bonfire
