Magical Buffet Hosts Bookstore Event
The Magical Buffet is one of our favorite magical blogs – besides merely reviewing books, blogger Rebecca Elson also does in-depth author interviews, profiles on musicians, and articles dealing with “religion, the paranormal, First Amendment issues, popular culture, magical practices, and whatever else is on Rebecca’s mind at any given moment.” (Not to mention that she’s a sweet gal.)
The reason I bring up The Magical Buffet is because Rebecca took some serious initiative and put together a great line-up of magical and paranormal authors for a one-of-a-kind bookstore event at the Barnes and Noble in Saratoga Springs, New York on September 11. It’s even called “A Magical Buffet of Writers” in a nod to the blog. If you’re in the area be sure to stop by to support their efforts so that they (and other B&Ns) may be more open to hosting such events again in the future, and while you’re at it, meet past and present Llewellyn authors Deborah Blake, Ellen Evert Hopman, Gail Wood and Maria Kay Simms. Deborah Blake’s new book, Witchcraft on a Shoestring, just got in to our warehouse a couple weeks ago, and I am excited to announce that soon we’ll be working on the third book in Ellen Evert Hopman’s druidic fiction series – check out the previous two, Priestess of the Forest and The Druid Isle if you haven’t already.
