Many tarotists combine numerology with tarot.  Let’s consider the Sixes. Some words associated with the energy of the number Six are: harmony, balance restored, justice. By combining these ideas with the energy represented by the suit, we can see the meanings of the cards. Let’s look at these concepts with the following cards.

Here we have a card of victory and public recognition. Perhaps this is justice…the center of attention getting his rightful due. Harmony restored, perhaps, if this victor has put down some chaotic forces. This image makes sense when mixing the ideas of harmony, balance restored, and justice with the fiery energy of the Wands.

The sweet side of the cups energy plays nicely with the idea of harmony, doesn’t it? The circular formation of the cups in this image also hints at balance restored…a memory put in its rightful place. It is no longer romanticized or vilified. It is simply part of the past. Justice always, to me, plays a role when thinking of the past. Justice is part of karma and if you have questions about your present, you can always look to your past and find the seeds that you planted there.

When we blend the challenging and sharp energy of the swords with harmony and balance restored, we would see a moving away from a hard situation to a place of calm and safety. In terms of justice, a situation that was perhaps fraught with unfairness is finally being righted.

Peace, balance restored, and justice are very tied to daily life necessities and resources. If there is not some balance between the “haves” and the “have nots” then the result is often rioting and upheaval. This card shows the proper flow of material energy. The circular feeling created by the hands reminds me of the Wheel of Fortune, reinforcing the idea that while there are times of abundance and times of want, as long as the wheel keeps turning, we’re going to be okay.
