April Shows Bring May Flowers
The 8 of Wands is often interpreted as a fast moving energy. Things happen and they happen quickly. When Spring finally and really comes, the world seems to blossom overnight. Here, where snow still covers the ground in the shady areas and the temps still dip below freezing, we have a few brave crocuses adding bits of color to a dirty grey world, but that’s all. We know, though, that in May, the trees will flower and the tulips and daffodils will splash our soggy gardens with color.
To help us remember, here is the very lovely 8 of Wands from the Universal Goddess Tarot.
From booklet:
Lie down with me on this soft grassy carpet. Smell the fragrances of spring, close your eyes and dream your most beautiful dream. I am Flora, the Roman goddess of flowering.
You know that you can use your tarot cards for things other than traditional readings. Here is a simple visualization activity to help transport you through the last chill days of winter.
In this card, Flora invites us to dream our most beautiful dream. What do you dream of, wish for, or hope for? What do you intend your life to look like in a month or so? What bliss will be blooming in your life? Go through your deck and select cards that represent the flowers you hope to grow in the garden of your life. Lay them out for a few days and every time you see them, think about them…it is a way of metaphorically watering your dreams.
Add even more power to this practice. Don’t add just metaphoric water, but take more concrete steps. Think up one thing you can do every day to help your “flowers” bloom. Channel that fast moving 8 of Wands and give your life a real burst into spring.
