Six Theorems of Sex Magick
Right now I should be on my way home from the Babalon Rising Festival. To keep to my somewhat loose blogging schedule, I’m adding this post. It’s a continuation of my previous post (assuming I have the scheduling technique worked out correctly!) where I presented what I called ten theorems of magick. Although that post and this one stand on their own, I would encourage you to look at my Ten Magickal Theorems post first.
Here, I’m moving on to give you an idea of the theorems and concepts that are behind the power of sex magick.
Theorem Eleven: Every Act of sexual intercourse produces a “magickal childe”
Note: As described in theorem one, “All actions have magickal reactions.” The natural action of sexual activity in its widest sense, which I’ll simply call “sexual intercourse,” has a magickal result called a “magickal childe” (Aleister Crowley’s term). So why is it that everyone having sex isn’t doing effective magick? Because they’re not goal directed and allow other thoughts to get in the way of the maturation of any magickal childe thus created.
Theorem Twelve: The thought held at orgasm is a magickal trigger
Note: After considerable practice and study, I have come to the conclusion that the thought held at orgasm does not, as some claim, come to pass. Rather, the mental/physical/emotional and spiritual orgasmic response can trigger a magickal result. There is no necessity that it must develop. Once the trigger is released, the magick follows normal magickal paths and for success you need to follow magickal practices, especially theorem six.
Corollary: GIGO
Note: GIGO is an engineering and computing abbreviation that stands for “garbage in, garbage out.” (Personally, from a NLP standpoint, I would prefer to say “greatness in, greatness out.”) Whatever you put into your sex magick is what you’ll get out. Magickal energy is like radio waves. It’s just energy, but attached to it and carried to your ears can be beautiful music or people spewing hate. You’ll get out what you put in.
Corollary: The more you put in, the more you get out
Note: Sexual activity and magickal ritual can run from methodical and bored to highly charged and ecstatic. The more you put into the planning and performance of the sex magick, the more effective it will be. This does not mean that you have to perform like rabbits on methamphetamines. Intensity can be mental, emotional, and spiritual as well as physiological.
Theorem Thirteen: Direct the “Potent Orgasm”
Note: Dr. Wilhelm Reich created the term “Potent Orgasm.” Orgasms can range in intensity from a gentle sneeze to a toe-curling, mind-blowing explosion. If you’re thinking about work, family, school, money issues, or even whether your partner(s) (if any) are enjoying themselves, you’re not having a Potent Orgasm. To have one you have to only want to experience the bliss and ecstasy of orgasm so that nothing else matters. The energy thus released can be directed via many techniques. See my Modern Sex Magick for details.
Theorem Fourteen: Sex magick can be energetic, physical, or both
Note: Most sources on sex magick focus on the physicality of sex and the resulting physical fluids that are charged with magickal intent and magickal energy from the physical act of sex. But it is the energy that is important, the physical fluids are just the result of the movement of the energy. When you understand this, concepts such as interpersonal polarity, heterosexual and homosexual sex magick, intercourse and outercourse become increasingly minor. Directing the sex magick energy is where the real power of sex magick exists.
Theorem Fifteen: There is power in ejaculate
Note: In spite of theorem fourteen, the energy in both the male and female ejaculatory and lubrication fluids is powerful. If you produce these fluids during your sex magick, put them to use. For example, use them to charge a talisman or draw a sigil on your body. It is said that the fluids lose their charge fairly rapidly, so use them before the charge wears off.
Theorem Sixteen: The sederunt has numerous positive magickal results
Note: Within sex magick, a sederunt is a period of separation. Specifically, it is a period of sexual activity which goes on for a long time wherein you are separated from other activities and thoughts. It is during the sederunt that you build up the magickal charge. As a general rule, the longer the sederunt—the longer your sexual activity—the more powerful the sex magickal energies will become. However, as with many things, you will eventually reach a point of negative returns. Become attuned to your body and determine when you reach the maximum energy level, then release that energy toward its magickal goal.
