Going Inward
At this time of year, it is natural to turn inward. I don’t know about you, but these next few months, into January, really, I do most of my deeper, personal readings, focusing on soul work. One of my favorite decks for this type of exploration is the Gaian Tarot (HERE).
I quiet down and listen for the rhythm of soul, the beat of my heart, the voice of my spirit. And this card, The Magician, drums me into meditation, with compassion, joy, and expectation. He becomes my guide. In the few years I’ve been working with this deck, I’ve come to look forward to these quiet, candle-lit nights and the blessings that they bring. What decks or cards do you use to focus on your soul’s needs?
I always return to the Thoth deck….it knows me better than I know myself. The deck feels like a friend who will always tell me the truth, even if it something I would prefer not to hear!
The Robin Wood deck Magician always resonates with me- the antler headress brings Herne the Hunter to me and the black and white candles, like the pillars of Boaz and Joachim of the High Priestess allow the sacred feminine to enter. It’s like being in the presence of the Lord and Lady at the same time.
The Power Cards by Lynne Andrews are a favorite tool for reflection. I recently purchased a Zen Koan deck and I am enjoying working with it too.
My powerful Drogi….
Crowley’s deck with the artwork by Freda Harris is the deck which works for me … and I also find the Faery Deck by Brian Froud to bring much insight and joy .. Osho’s Zen Tarot … and then there is always the runes … lol, so many places to turn, each with its own flavor.
