The New Moon in Scorpio occurs Tuesday, November 13 at 5:08 pm EST (10:08 pm GMT), at 22 degrees. New moons signify a new cycle, new beginnings, and rebirth. This New Moon also coincides with a total solar eclipse; eclipses intensify energy, so be prepared for an influx of personal thought and reflection.
This New Moon, along with the Sun (also in Scorpio) will highlight the watery Scorpio qualities of ambition and determination, as well as eighth house themes of join resources and life cycles. This New Moon period is the perfect time to examine your finances, especially those you share with a partner or spouse. Is one person spending more than the other? Does your spending surpass your income? Since the eighth house also represents reincarnation and life cycles, it could signal a promising new beginning to how you handle your finances. However, keep in mind that three planets are currently retrograde (Mercury went retrograde on 11/6, and stations direct on 11/26; Uranus is retrograde and stations direct on December 16; and Jupiter is retrograde until January 30, 2013); you may find yourself reflecting and re-evaluating your entire approach to your finances as far as your partner and family are concerned..
That should say 5:08 PM not AM 🙂
I have also written extensively about the Scorpio Total solar Eclipse on my website under ASTROLOGY UPDATES page http://taratarotweb.tripod.com/id32.html
I create meditations visualizations and rituals to accompany these cosmic special events.
I invite you and your readers to read more.

What is seen in the planet alignments with the eclipse is a heavy emphasis on looking into things that are dark, covered, secret, taboo or not allowed to be exposed to the ‘light’ of day – while asking yourself can you continue to be involved in such areas without first laying the foundations of stability, trust and enduring nurturance? All things need their balance. And these more intense areas need their ‘earth’ to be felt in a safe way. There are also aspects that show it will be a great time to feel and let go – but this process will not be without its tears and pain.
Mercury retrograde is still making communication trying at times, especially if it’s about looking into the future. The dreams or fantasies are clashing with this overall optimistic energy that wants to break free and mingle, expanding its networks in one’s life – but with lots of fire inducing energy, spontaneous arguments can be the result if the ‘ideas or conversation’ has not been thought out properly. So my advice is to not pull the gun out of the holster unless you really want to shoot at something or someone. Normally this actioning will be exciting and energising, but with the Moon eclipsing the Sun in the sensitive and defensive sign of Scorpio, there is a high chance that any ‘shooting’ down around this time can result in tears and unintentional pain. So the advice is to find your firm footing in one or two key areas of daily routine, let your self-esteem be caressed through deep and silent insight, and feel the transformations happen deep within. This will then allow the fiery energy that exists around this time to not cause too many upset human beings bouncing off each other.
It’s a particular powerful eclipse because of its alignment with Saturn in Scorpio, so pressure will be felt in keeping to one’s vows and if tempted to break them, make sure you really know what you are inviting into your life if you want to change paths or simply experiment. The offsetting energy in Taurus is favouring not experimenting and risk taking, but more on stabilising and grounding in a beautifully rich, predictable and sensual way.
