Soul Cats Tarot Empress
Have you ever heard a tarot teacher suggest throwing away the book that came with a deck? While I can see the benefits to approaching the cards with fresh eyes, I’d encourage just setting the book aside rather than tossing it out. Most books that come with a deck not only provide interesting deck specific information but also present basic tarot information in new ways.
We rarely showcase tarot companion book text, and it is time we changed that.
We are so excited about the Soul Cats Tarot. In the book that accompanies this gorgeous deck (the images by Adam Oehlers rarely fails to illicit gasps of delight), Leeza provides three levels of understanding or interpretation for each card. The Message is a neutral expression of the card’s energy and should be considered whether the card is upright or reversed. The Guidance expresses the card’s upright energy; the Protection is the reversed.
The Empress
Message: The backyard animals stay close to the Soul Cat, for they know she is pregnant. They can feel the expectant energy that surrounds her. The need to be on hand, to be of service and to make sure she is comfortable, is all these creatures care about right now. Their only need is to serve.
Guidance: We often forget that when something is expected, and we know there will be an arrival, there is an element of service involved, as we will need to make sure the space has been prepared. We need to check that all the items we will need, once this energy or thing arrives, are in place. However, most importantly, we need to hold space, honor it, and fall into devotional service of that which is not here yet, but could show up at any moment. This means, dear one, that you need to be mindful of your body, mind, and energy. Make sure you are looking after yourself, so you can in turn look after that which you have created.
Protection: Waiting is never anyone’s strong suit. Most of us are impatient by default. Unfortunately, I see more waiting in your future, however, it is not a delay, but merely a refining. Something needs to be fine-tuned, reframed or even restored, before this new creation can truly be birthed into your daily life. The quicker you can find the kink or block, the faster your little bubble will arrive.
