Tarot Priestess: Using the Cards to Heal, Grow, and Serve by Leeza Robertson

Become a modern-day priestess with this deeply spiritual book on using tarot cards as both devotional and divinatory tools. Tarot Priestess presents a spiritual framework—organized around the court cards, major arcana, and minor arcana—through which you’ll heal the wounds of the sacred feminine and deepen your practice with an open heart and dedicated mind.

Leeza Robertson brings you closer than ever to your tarot cards, showing you how to unite your daily practice with goddess energy. She cleverly ties the four stages of your initiation to the court cards, links the goddess temples to the four suits of the minor arcana, and organizes the major arcana into three priestess gateways that you pass through on your journey. Whatever your skill level, this book shows you how to serve with purpose and spiritual fulfillment.

Let’s learn more about those intriguing gateways (from the book):

Welcome to the gateways, your first stops along your priestess path. In this section of the book, you will pass through three very important gateways before making your way to the temples of air, fire, water, and earth. Gateway one will introduce you to ritual and ceremony. These are important parts of your priestess practice. By walking through this gateway, you will come to learn the difference between ritual and ceremony as well as when one may be used instead of the other. You may even learn that your entire life is made up of tiny rituals, small sacred acts that are constantly reinforcing the notion that you are already a priestess.

The next gateway you will pass through will introduce you to pilgrimage, initiation and rites of passage. This is where you learn that oftentimes the act itself, the doing, the being, your life is a pilgrimage and that it is part of your initiation. Don’t be surprised if you get to the end of this book and realize that every hard knock, every joyful celebration was an important rite of passage along your priestess path. Just like gateway one, you may end up being very surprised how mundane and easily missed these important gateways are. You are passing through them every day, often without the awareness that they even exist or have shifted you in anyway.

The third and final gateway that you will dance through will assist you to reclaim your wild shadow self and bring your complete being into the light. One of the more important aspects of your priestess work will be connecting to the wildness within you, within the physical world and in the spiritual ecstasy of movement. These concepts, which are often cast off as shadow work, are an integral part of the radiant work of the goddess. It is through these very acts that she shines through you. Making you feel connected, complete, and alive.

The lessons within each of these gateways are fundamental to your priestess training. Being able to identify them, work with them and possibly even explain them to others will be part of your own journey. You will have 20 guides for your travels in the first part of this book, so do not worry as you won’t get lost or be left alone. Just follow the cards, let them lead and you will be well on your way to sitting on the temple steps in no time.
