Spell balls are a very popular form of container magic. These spell charms are crafted by using glass or plastic ornament balls filled with herbs and other materials that correspond to the magic at hand. Once filled, the charms are hung somewhere in the home, where its magic will fill the room.
Here are two simple spell balls to bring protection and peace into your home.
Seaglass & Seashell Protection Ball
This ball uses materials from the sea to cleanse any negativity sent your want and return the energy to the sea. The sea glass reflects the energy, the shells reverse the energy, and the sea salt neutralizes any remaining energy.
Materials:
- Glass or plastic ball
- 3 crushed sea shells
- 3 pieces of small sea glass
- ½ cup sea salt
- Hot glue (super glue or another semi-permanent glue also works) to seal the contents of the ball
- 1′ length of wire or string
Working:
- Into the ball place the crushed seashells and the pieces of sea glass.
- When you have filled the ball with the seaglass and shells, glue the top onto the ball to seal it shut.
- Once the ball’s hanging top is secure, gently shake the ball, mixing the glass and shells.
- As you shake the ball, recite the following chant 5-7 times: “Glass and shells of the sea, from ill will protect me. Wash away to the sea, all negativity never to be.”
- Once you feel that the ball has been charged, place it on its hanger and hang it somewhere in your home where it will receive light at least part of the day.
- Once or twice daily, gently shake the ball, reciting the same chant 3-5 time to keep the ball charged. Repeat until you feel you no longer need the protection.
Peace and Love in the Home
Use this charm when times are stressful in your life and you need to enhance the feelings of peace and love within the home.
Materials:
- Glass or plastic ball
- 2 tbs lavender (for peace, protection, and love)
- 2 tbs chamomile (for peace and calm)
- 2 tbs rosemary (for home and family, peace in the home, and love)
- 1 tbs sugar (for sweetening and attracting peace)
- Hot glue (super glue or another semi-permanent glue also works) to seal the contents of the ball
- 1′ length of wire or string
Working:
- Add the materials to the ball one by one, stating why you are using each material in this magical work.
- Glue the ball topper in place to seal the ball. Let the glue set for 15-20 minutes.
- With the top secure, gently shake the ball to mix the materials thoroughly. As you mix the materials, recite the following chant 5-7 times: “Peace in the home for me. Peace and love there shall forever be.”
- Use the wire or string to hang the ball in the living room.
- At least once daily, shake the ball and recite the chant to keep the charm activated.
