Let’s spend this summer studying The Sun card! Each entry between May and August (8 total) will feature a Sun card from a different deck along with the text the creator wrote for it. It will be interesting to see how so many people see difference aspects of this apparently simple card.

Everyone loves the Sun, right? Well…maybe not everyone. Luckily, we mortals are safe. How do the vamps fare? Let’s see in the Tarot of the Vampires by Charles Harrington and Craig Maher

XIX, The Sun

Pursued by vampires, a mortal bursts through a window into the light of day.  The undead claw at their fleeing prey but the sun burns their unholy flesh and sends them crawling back into the darkness.

The Sun is a wonderful card to find in your reading.  It blesses you in whatever situation you find yourself and suggests that a satisfying conclusion is on the horizon.
The light of this card brings clarity.  Its warm glow melts our doubts and fears that have frozen us in immobility.  If you have been waiting for a “yes” before you proceed on some undertaking, here it is.  Your challenge is to accept the message, take yes for an answer, and turn your back on the comfort of your old doubts and reservations.

The Sun’s light is literally energizing and when its card appears we can expect to experience vitality and restoration.

In the warmth of the sun, plants grow and ripen until they are ready to be harvested and enjoyed.  This card promises that things will develop and improve from the care and attention we give them.  The Sun card presages success in your undertaking.

Reversed, the light of the sun dims only slightly.  This is such a joyous card that not even a reversal can bring it down.  The reversed Sun says, simply, this situation will be less than perfect but still very good.  Do not pine for perfection. Accepting good things as they are gives you more time to enjoy them.
