A Real Haunted House
With Halloween just a few days away, everyone is hopping on the ghost bandwagon. I came upon this article on NPR’s website.
We have published many books that revolve around haunted houses. The Ghosts on 87th Lane, The Uninvited, and House of Spirits and Whispers are just a few. These books are all first-hand accounts of their experiences of living in a haunted house.
Have you lived in a haunted house? If so, did you experience anything out of the ordinary?
I have an affinity for old houses. Most of them have been ‘of repute’ (i.e., haunted).
One, in west Texas, was over 100 years old. I would feel a breeze by my legs at times, in closed rooms.
In my husbands’ family home, as he was passing, we were both aware of ‘shades’ that moved, purpsefully, without menace. We laughed at our last ‘folie a deux’.
I have always found it helpful to keep cats in the house. Always an easy explanation for the things that go bump in the night.
Thanks for sharing your story, Lada! I also love old houses and building. I lived in a very interesting apartment building while in college. It was from the 1860s and was a former house of ill repute. Many interesting things happened there. Look for a future post for my story about that place!
