Practical Tarot for the Holidays
Here is a technique that can help you prepare for any potentially sticky holiday interactions. The holidays can be a stressful time, with emotions and expectations running high. If your goal is to at least minimize drama and at most take advantage of the “goodwill to all” and heal relationships, it helps to understand the needs and/or desires of both parties involved. You may have more than one person you want information about, so do this technique for each relationship.
Think about the person you want to create lack of drama or peace with. Think about their characteristics as regards your relationship with them. Think about yourself and what you bring to the relationship. Try to be as honest as possible.
Remove your court cards from the deck. Pick one that you think represents the other person (card A), then pick one for yourself (card B). Then shuffle the court cards and draw a random card for each of you (cards A1 and B1, respectively), to show you what you aren’t seeing.
Shuffle the court cards back into the deck.
Randomly draw a card to represent what the other person wants (card A2). Draw one to represent what you want (card B2).
Finally, draw a card to represent how you two can connect, overcome the problem, or find peace for at least one day (card C).
This might be one of the most practical spreads I’ve ever seen! I’ll defintely being using this one before my family gatherings.
