Full Moon in Capricorn, June 23, 2013
The Full Moon in Capricorn will occur Sunday, June 23 at 7:32 am Eastern (11:32 am GMT) at 2 degrees. Full Moons represent the culmination of those things that were begun with the New Moon (in this case the June 8 New Moon in Gemini), which found us focusing on family communication.
The Capricorn Full Moon opposes the Sun in Cancer; we are reminded to check ourselves in the progress we made towards our goals set during the Gemini New Moon. Have we begun to be more open with our family members, both near and far? Are there still old hurts that need to be addressed?
This Capricorn Full Moon is also a “Super Moon,” meaning it is at perigee (it is at the point in its orbit that is closest to the Earth); this—along with the fact that the Full Moon occurs right on the heels of Friday’s Solstice—will add intensity to the Moon’s energy. The Moon rules our emotions (and the Sun is also in Cancer, ruler of the Moon), so be prepared to deal with any emotions that surround the issues you’ve been working through these last couple of weeks.
