The Healing Power of Community
Readers, please enjoy this guest blog post by Kris Franken, author of the new Call of Intuition.
As humanity awakens to a new way of living on earth, we are rediscovering the healing power of local communities.
Those who have been disconnected from in-person relationships may find it difficult to step into a community of people. Relationships are inherently challenging; however, they also create opportunities for us to learn, heal, and ultimately, grow into a higher expression of who we came here to be.
Relationships remind us of what matters. They are a mirror to our light and shadow, pointing to our luminous aspects and guiding us into deeper healing of all that is hidden. Through honest, considered reflection, we become aware of ourselves and what needs healing within us.
Living in communion with a group of people who are open-minded and like-hearted is nourishing for our mental, emotional, physical, and spiritual health. As more people work from home, re-evaluate their careers, look for meaning in life, and move out of big cities, they are discovering what it means to live in community, possibly for the first time in their life.
Two years ago, when I moved from Sydney (the biggest city in Australia) to Byron Bay (a small town and spiritual capital of the same country), I expected a period of loneliness and adjustment. Time to transition and heal. Space to create my dream home. A slow spell of writing my first book (The Call of Intuition), taking care of two young children, and connecting to this beautiful land.
This period was not as I expected, as after only a few weeks I met new friends who resonated deeply with my heart, my values, and way of life. I discovered groups and events that accelerated my growth and elevated my bliss to new levels previously unknown. These days I’m connected to the most incredible community who live consciously, fearlessly, respectfully, purposefully, and lovingly. By simply being with them, I am called to do the same.
It’s not always easy. This is the first time in my life I’ve been so involved in an active,
engaged, and influential gathering. I’m still finding my feet, still learning how best to serve and learn, and still discovering the depths of unconditional love I have for all people. It’s a humbling journey for which I’m grateful each day.
I am most fulfilled when I sit with these people, drop my expectations, open my heart, and tune in to the collective mystery that is so profound and pronounced in the energy between us. I am reminded constantly of the importance of time spent with others who care deeply about humanity and our precious earth.
If joining a group feels overwhelming for you, start small. If you’re unable to meet in face-to-face groups, find an online community where you feel safe, loved, nurtured, and valued.
It’s time we radiated our innermost divine light and highest truth to the people around us. To grow roots and bloom amongst the wildflowers of our community.

I thoroughly enjoyed what you had to say in this post. You are absolutely right and we aren’t the only two obviously that agree on that however, what can one person do to change the world? … Absolutely nothing if nobody tries.Taking into consideration safety and health measures worldwide, gathering together is something that many hesitate to even think about these days.. and chat rooms and internet yeah they’re great and all, but the lack of communication is the reality of the world now .. and the reconnection is the KEY. I have something up my sleeve.. which may seem cheesy or many would say ridiculous. But please spread the word maybe others will pick up on it and pay it forward pass it on spend a couple dollars to reconnect.. my idea is Christmas Eve 2020 I am wanting to leave a potted plant or tree or shrub by as many mailboxes as I can.. and this very odd gift includes a waterproof “instruction manual” card stating this gift is not one from me to you but from all of us to each other. I’m putting instructions to plant this tree flower shrub whatever on Christmas day… And inside will be a little prayer or positive affirmation or inspirational quote or some random using just to make people smile.. to be read as they plant this plant. My goal here is to invoke just a tiny bit of Hope tiny bit positive energy in each person and as they’re planting with this positive energy on Christmas day, maybe just maybe that energy will ring out maybe it will inspire to do kind things for other people give back to the Earth have hope have faith be grateful.. without expecting anything in return..also and remembrance of all the lives that have been lost this year and all the loss and pain that people have endured..I hope you understand where I’m getting at I just I want to get this message across..
this silly little idea could be
Something more than we have now and means of reconnecting or at least somehow thinking in some way back to her energy. Like I said silly cute but spread the word if you will and love and light to you and yours…
Do all things w love in your heart..
There is no testimony without a test. And one voice may not matter but if that one never speaks up to share the idea with another then one voice will never become enough to make a difference.
