Crop Circles
It’s that time of year. Crop circles are starting to appear, and they are very prevalent in the southwest English counties. Wiltshire is one county that attracts many visitors for its crop circles, Stonehenge, Silbury Hill, and Avebury henge.
A crop circle was spotted near Salisbury, Wiltshire, on May 7, 2010. It was located in a field next to Old Sarum, which was created by a Neolithic community around 3,000 BC. It was turned into a fort and inhabited by Romans, Saxons, and Normans at various points in time. It once housed a cathedral that Henry VIII had torn down when the fort relocated two miles to Salisbury due to the extreme weather on the fort’s hilltop.
