Do you read a lot of blogs and newsletters? Listen to podcasts? Me, too. So you know there is a lot of great content “out there.” Mostly, I like to add to it. But today I want to share some of the tarot goodness that has added to my life.

Beyond Worlds is a tarot podcast started and still run by a woman named Donnaleigh de la Rose. She is usually joined by a co-host or two (or even three) and her goal is to bring tarot education to the community…for free. She plays hostess to some amazing tarot luminaries who freely share their knowledge. If you haven’t checked out the show, take a listen HERE. In addition to interviews and classes, she has smaller segments within the longer show, such as Listener Feedback, Dear Di (tarot questions sent to and answered by the erudite Diane Wilkes), and Tarot Tips.

Recently, one of the Tarot Tips really interested me. It is from a man named Paris, and you can read about his tip HERE (and there is also a link to listen, if you want). Do click that link and read what he has to say and also to check out his astrological cheat sheet. It is clever, witty, and dead helpful. In brief, the tip is how to do an incredibly effective one card reading using a method he calls “rolling through the houses.” You ask a question and pull a single card. By considering that card in each of the houses of an astrological chart, you come up with twelve aspects that fit together to create an in-depth and nuanced answer.

I have heard, of course, of using the houses of a chart as the basis of a spread, and pulling one card to for each position. I’ve shared James Wells’ idea of learning a card and the importance of the question by pulling one card and reading it in each position. But this idea of Paris’ has a slightly different twist that I really like. Give it a try and see how you like it. If you don’t like it for some reason (twelve is too many or you don’t want to learn astrological houses), create your own system of questions or points that you can use instead and simply roll one card through those.
