Two Llewellyn titles, Chakra Awakening (Margaret Ann Lembo; bronze award in the category of Body, Mind & Spirit) and Awake in the World (Debra Moffitt; bronze award in the category of Self-Help) are winners of the ForeWord Book of the Year Award!
This year’s Book of the Year Awards were announced at a ceremony in Anaheim June 23 over the ALA (American Library Association) conference. The books, representing the best independently published works from 2011, were selected by a panel of librarian and bookseller judges.
The Healing Wisdom of Birds (Lesley Morrison) was also a finalist in the Nature category. In addition, one book from Llewellyn’s Flux imprint (Skyship Academy: The Pearl Wars by Nick James, in the category of Young Adult Fiction) and two books from Llewellyn’s Midnight Ink imprint (The Phoenix Apostles by Lynn Sholes & Joe Moore in the Thriller category and Assault with a Deadly Glue Gun by Lois Winston in the Mystery category) were also finalists for the award.
ForeWord Reviews is a journal dedicated to reviewing independently published books, established in 1998. It serves as the flagship periodical of booksellers, librarians, agents, and publishing professionals who want to access the best titles from small presses.
