Last night a full lunar eclipse occurred, just hours before today’s Winter Solstice. Many people around the world used this auspicious time for ritual, spell work, divination, meditation, and much more. I was one of them. I made a list of goals and wishes for the new year and focused my intentions with the powerful eclipse and the rebirth of the Sun in the Northern Hemisphere. I surrendered to my beloved dead a list of questions, asking them for greater insight from the other side. I meditated on peace and compassion for our planet. For the first time in nearly 500 years, there will be a lunar eclipse on the Winter Solstice. This Moon will also be full in Gemini. Full Moons highlight the completion and maturity of projects, and in this case the full moon/lunar eclipse will highlight the Gemini/Sagittarius polarity and themes of intelligence, thought, and communication. It is time to realize the power of our inner thoughts and desires, and to perhaps re-evaluate where we have been and on what path we are going. Both the Sun and Moon are at 29 degrees (the Sun at 29 degrees Sagittarius and the Moon at 29 degrees Gemini), and they form a mutable T-square with Jupiter and Uranus, which can bring about new thought
