About the Cards in Your Reading

Queen of Wands
In the Past position
Queen of Wands
A card in the left position indicates what has happened to affect your question in the past.

Meaning: If the Queen of Wands appears in a reading, then you are likely embodying these qualities and can confidently bring about a positive result in relation to your question. Do not be afraid to show how passionate you are about something, but remember to be humble about it. If love or attraction is at the root of the question, then stand in the power of your own attractiveness. It may well imply that someone with the qualities of the queen is about to swing into the situation and offer that injection of quiet confidence and deep honesty.

The Fool
In the Present position
The Fool
A card in the middle position indicates what is affecting your question at this time.

Meaning: The implication here is that you are on the verge of something new; this may instill some nervousness and not always a sense of joy. But change is often good, and the Fool suggests that not only is courage needed to take the leap into what is essentially unknown, the card may also be warning you against a lack of risk taking and spontaneity. Taking a leap of faith may be necessary for the question to become an answer, particularly if the question refers to a situation that is stuck, or where the plug needs a good sharp pull to allow good flow. You can overthink the situation and in so doing talk yourself out of a potential outcome. Stop doing that, have faith, and take heed that a new beginning is necessary.

The Shadow
In the Future position
The Shadow
A card in the right position indicates your questions future.

Meaning: This can be a hard card to swallow, and its position this late in the Major Arcana can be perplexing, but the trap of materialism and the allure of gain can overcome even the most devout and committed of spiritual seekers. This card implies that there is illusion rife within this question and that things are governed by the basic needs that so many humans crave: money, sex, power, and gain. But know also that sexual energy and spiritual energy cannot be separated. In fact, there is no separation between physiology and spirituality. The querent may feel trapped, but it is likely that the trap is of their own doing or governed by the illusion of bondage, material gain, and ignorance, all of which can lead to frustration and helplessness. Perhaps the querent has spent too many years saying yes rather than learning the power of no.
