About the Cards in Your Reading

Eight of Shields
In the Past position
Eight of Shields
A card in the left position indicates what has happened to affect your question in the past.

Meaning: Employment, commissioning of new projects, maturation of business, and the utilization of your skills and knowledge are being focused on. But know that when you do something, the whole universe is doing it. We do not exist in a vacuum. The presence of this card concerns itself with past study and commitment, and therefore its future consequences and results. Without devotion and dedication to your craft, the work may well fail or never amount to anything other than a whimsical dream. You may be exceptionally good at what you do, but what are your motives for doing it? If the trajectory of your focus is on end results only, you will struggle. The journey itself is equally important.

The Lovers
In the Present position
The Lovers
A card in the middle position indicates what is affecting your question at this time.

Meaning: This is a card that is on the surface blatantly obvious in its meanings, whatever the question. To find the Lovers present implies that there are issues concerning relationships, love, connection, and the myriad of ways these can express themselves in human life—however our personal beliefs and values express themselves in relationships. The question may be asking you to evaluate self-love. To love thyself is essential for anyone else to love you. Sexuality raises its head here, too; look to the cards on either side to guide you into the evaluation of this card and its place in the reading.

Five of Cauldrons
In the Future position
Five of Cauldrons
A card in the right position indicates your questions future.

Meaning: This is another obvious card; there is sorrow here and deep emotional pain. For the time being it is fine for you to focus on what has been lost, but do not lose hope. Time is subjective, and there can be no limit on the time it takes for you to be able to emotionally relocate the pain into the upright cauldrons and transition from this phase of your life. The river of sorrow may be revisited again and again, but the first encounter is often the most painful. Find your inner strength, but do not push yourself. Find the bridge that will allow you to integrate these feelings into your experience.
