Change is coming, and it must be embraced lest the path be uneven and cause you to stumble. The reality of this card is the implication that often some things really are out of our immediate control. Control freaks loathe this card, whilst those who are often willing to give away their control welcome it, for it offers an inevitability that they believe will lead them to new pastures or through new doors. This may well be the case, but often fate, destiny—call it what you will—requires an active hand. Rarely do things appear in the lap like magic; we must work at them, commit ourselves. Often the wheel implies that whilst we may be succeeding, do not be complacent; a twist of circumstance may well surprise you. When the change comes, it is often easier to accept it for what it is rather than torture yourself in an attempt to explain it. The wheel has turned—move along.

Meaning: Your task is complete. There is literally nothing else you can do; it is done. Sometimes conclusion is not only something that we crave, but when it actually arrives, waving at the doorstep, it can leave us feeling a little bewildered. When the job is done, when that task has reached its desired or inevitable conclusion, there is nothing you can do but accept it, acknowledge it, and move on. For anything to have significance and meaning—to have any value—it must end. Eternity is a frightfully long time. Our human experience allows us to experience the nature of finiteness. Accept what has happened, honor it, and continue with your journey. A new beginning will naturally follow an ending. Ideally the World will appear in a conclusive position within a reading; its other more favorable positions are at the commencement of the spread or right in the center.
