Event:  Seasonal Rootwork: The Priestess Stephanie Rose Bird Legacy Series

The NCB School of Herbalism & Holistic Health is honored to announce an extraordinary educational partnership between two respected leaders in the field of ancestral herbalism and African Indigenous healing traditions, Priestess Stephanie Rose Bird and Queen Mother Iya Angelique "Sobande" Greer.

Seasonal Rootwork: The Priestess Stephanie Rose Bird Legacy Series is an extraordinary three-part virtual learning journey culminating in an immersive in-person retreat. Guided by world-renowned author, herbalist, artist, rootworker, and spiritual teacher Priestess Stephanie Rose Bird, this transformational series invites participants to explore African Indigenous wisdom, Hoodoo, herbalism, Earth-based spirituality, ancestral connection, cultural creativity, and seasonal living.

Each eight-week cohort is thoughtfully aligned with the natural rhythms of the year and designed to build upon the next:

Cohort 1: Sankofa (Begins September 22): Autumn, harvesting, ancestral remembrance, and the thinning of the veil.
Cohort 2: Kuumba (Begins January 18, 2027): Community, creativity, cultural expression, and beautification.
Cohort 3: Livity (Begins April 5, 2027): Clean living, clear thoughts, righteous actions, renewal, and spiritual alignment.

The series culminates with a celebratory in-person retreat held July 15–19, 2027, where participants will gather for deeper learning, creative practice, community connection, ritual, herbal exploration, and collective reflection.

Throughout the program, participants will explore:

  • Hoodoo and ancestral practices
  • Herbalism and plant medicine
  • Growing, harvesting, and foraging foods and herbs
  • Earth-based spirituality
  • Ancestor veneration and spiritual connection
  • African-inspired creative projects and rituals
  • Seasonal reflection, renewal, and community care

Each virtual cohort includes a beautiful digital student workbook, a Makers Box with supplies for hands-on projects, a digital toolkit and resource list, access to weekly replays, educational support, instructor communication, and a Certificate of Completion.
