The Meanings of Colors in Dreams

Dreaming

In general, colors in dreams have been adjudicated the following meanings:

Black: The color of death, indicating depression and moodiness in the dreamer

strong>Blue: Spiritual energy and high ideals; fidelity; cool intellect; the celestial, and therefore, the high aspirations of the soul; deep blue means intuition and understanding.

Brown: The color of the earth, therefore it means sensation and sometimes disintegration.

Gold: The color of the sun, therefore it means the conscious mind and truth; it also indicates the masculine principle.

Green: Vitality, healing; growth; hope; the principle of life itself; a muddy green indicates jealousy or weakness and inexperience.

Orange: Health; energy; occult powers; the power of mind; messages.

Pink: The emotions; love; joy; illusion.

Purple or Violet: vital power; the moon color and therefore intuition; maybe travels or news.

Red: Life force; sexual passion; blood; fire; also anger.

White or Silver: Purity; peace; light; illumination; wisdom; a symbol of the moon, and therefore of the female principle.

Yellow: Sunshine; mind; intuition; pure energy; happiness to come; good financial prospects; a muddy yellow indicates cowardice and sometimes death.

Naturally, the type of object we see surrounded by a specific color is just as important as its hue, and we have to take both meanings into consideration before reaching a reasonably accurate interpretation of the dream.
