Spell: First Day of the Oak Moon Spell

Color of the Day
Incense of the Day

Color of the day: Pink
Incense of the day: Rose

Oak Moon begins today. Oak is a hardy tree revered for its strength, longevity, and perennial knowledge. Oak represents the great mother in Native American belief. Oak is special to the Druids, whose very name is derived from the tree. Dru translates as "oak," while wid means "knowledge." Thus the Druids were keepers of the knowledge of the oak. To absorb some of the precious gift of oak tree knowledge, go outside and gather ten pliable oak leaves. Draw a bath at dusk or midnight. Place seven oak leaves in tub. Use the other three to wash your body. Wet, then lather up one leaf at a time, rubbing it over your body as you recite:

Strength and courage,
I summon thee.
Wisdom of the mighty oak tree.
Cleanse me, treat me, touch my soul.
Thereby others I can make whole.
