Color of the day: Amber
Incense of the day: Pine Today is Ilmatar's Feast Day. According to Finnish mythology, Ilmatar is the Water Mother who created the world. Nesting on the waters, she laid seven eggs, six of gold and one of iron. From these eggs she made everything. The Finns honor Ilmatar by feasting, dancing, and staying up all night. What do you create? How do you express yourself? Celebrate your creativity by giving it a place to live. You'll need a hollow, resealable golden egg such as those pantyhose come in. Fill the egg with items corresponding to inspiration: herbs such as cinnamon, honeysuckle, mint, vervain; stones like fluorite, sodalite, rutilated quartz. Then say: Gold without Gold within What will be What has been Some may wait I create! Glue the egg closed. Decorate the outside with stars, spirals, or other magical signs. Keep it in a safe place, such as on your altar. |
