| As the moon is just past full today, it is the perfect time to begin shadow work that can continue on until the dark moon to be grounded. Choose a shadow energy you most wish to work with for this cycle. In an extra-protective circle, inscribe a black candle with all the qualities of the shadow you're working with. Anoint the candle and address it thusly:
(You represent the _____ shadow side of me, and your ways are a mystery. I hold the light, however (light the candle), so I can dance us into balance. As this candle burns, so may the light in me overcome any power this shadow holds over me. So mote it be.) If you are able and choose to do so, dance around your altar (or simply do so in your mind), imagining the form of this shadow dancing with you. Remember that our shadows are always with us, but by dancing with them, we can keep them in sight and, therefore, at bay. Let your shadow know this truth at every turn. Be blessed. |
