Winter is a good time to reflect on life’s cycles. What better way to do this than with a Mobius strip? You’ll need an 8.5 x 11 sheet of paper, a scissors, and a pen. Cut a 1 x 11-inch strip from one edge of the sheet. (Set the large leftover sheet aside.) On one side of the strip, reflect on your successes or challenges over the past year, writing as little or as much (or as large!) as you wish but filling the strip with writing. Turn it over, and on the other side, write about your goals, hopes, and dreams for the coming year. Holding the two ends of the strip, give one end a half-turn so its reverse side is visible. Tape the two ends together with the twist still present. Sitting quietly and contemplating your successes and dreams, place your finger at any one point on the strip and follow it along, moving the strip as you go, until … what happens? |
