| To bless a child with long life, good health, happiness, and prosperity, when a child loses its first teeth place them in a small clear gold-tinted bottle. Along with the tiny teeth, place in the bottle a few rose petals, some angelica and orris root, several cloves and a cinnamon stick, some rue and vervain, and a piece of gold and a piece of silver. The gold and silver need not be fancy-even a small earring will do. Put each of the child's first teeth in the bottle until you have collected them all. Then, blow some of your breath into the bottle, and say: "Long life, good health, happiness, prosperity, and love." Seal the bottle with red wax. |
