LLEWELLYN'S SPELL-A-DAY

Spell: Removing Obstacles with Garlic

Color of the Day
Incense of the Day

Use garlic's fiery nature to burn away obstacles on your path. You will need:

  • A piece of white paper, 7 inches square
  • A red pen or marker
  • A head of garlic
  • A piece of red cotton cloth, 1 foot square
  • Red string, 7 feet long

Using a red pen or marker, write all the obstacles you'd like to cleanse away on the paper square. Fold the paper around the head of garlic, then place in the center of the red cloth. Spit onto the garlic and paper bundle three times. Bring the corners of the cloth up, then tie around the garlic and paper, forming a bundle. Seal with three knots in the red string. Leave about a foot of the string loose outside the knots. Tie these together to form a loop. Hang the bundle in an oak tree (or another strong, living tree) where no one will see it. As it rots away, so too will your obstacles.
