Spell: Magical Plant Food

Color of the Day
Incense of the Day

Sometimes indoor potted plants need a boost. There are a few natural ways to feed them that also have a magical side. As you fertilize your plants in the following ways, visualize your magical intention growing along with their leaves and blooms.

  • Coffee grinds: Sparingly sprinkle used coffee grinds (never fresh) onto the soil around the base of the plant. Coffee grinds are acidic and add phosphorus to the soil. Magically, coffee beans are associated with stamina.
  • Eggshells: Save some eggshells and grind them in a coffee grinder. This powder will provide your plant with calcium. Add some to the soil when potting, or sprinkle on the surface after planting. Magically speaking, eggshells are associated with protection.
  • Banana peels: Soak a banana peel in water for about five hours or until the water turns brown. Remove the peel and water your plants to provide potassium. Bananas are associated with fertility.

Be sure to research your plants before trying these techniques to make sure they are compatible.
