Color of the day: Topaz
Incense of the day: Sandalwood The time around the Summer Solstice is a time to celebrate community. If you can, plan a "Just Because" party for your family, friends, coworkers, and neighbors. Tell them: "I'm having a party just because I'm happy you're in my life." Decorate with bright colors, and serve seasonal foods. Have plenty of music. Take it outside if you can. After the party, plan to spend time volunteering at a local organization. Attend a town meeting. Read your local paper cover to cover, and write a letter to the editor about something positive you observe in the community. Offer to grocery shop for an elderly next-door neighbor who has trouble getting around. Babysit for another neighbor, so the parent can have a few hours of quiet time. Tutor a kid in summer school. Pitch in at a local charity event. See what makes your community special, and then do something to take it to the next level. |
