Incense of the day: Ylang-ylang Today is one of the British Quarter Days, which honor the change of seasons. The wheel always turns, but Quarter Days remind us to stop and do some cleaning. For this simple cleansing, you will need a white taper candle and holder, salt water, a smudgestick, and a feather. Set up a small altar and place the items on it. Take the smudgestick and feather and walk around the house counter-clockwise. Using the feather, blow smoke into every corner of the house. Say: "I ask air and fire to clear this house of any negativity." After you've smudged, take the saltwater and repeat your path. As you walk, say: "I ask water and earth to clear this house of any negativity." Return to the altar and say: "Lord and Lady, this place is clear. Bless all the occupants and hold them dear. So mote it be!" |
