Incense of the Day

Color of the day: Coral
Incense of the day: Nutmeg

As the new year approaches, we consider dreams we want to come true, and we make our wishes known to those around us. There is an easy way to obtain a talisman that helps our wishes manifest. The Wishbone is a forked bone formed by the fusion of the clavicles of most fowl. Save a wishbone from your turkey feast, or request one from a friend if you are a vegetarian. Clean the meat off the bone by boiling it in a pot of water. Make sure an adequate amount of water is used. Boil this for twenty minutes. Sanitize the bone by setting it in a bowl and covering it with some bleach dissolved in water. Place the bowl in a sunny spot for one full day. Then rinse and dry the wishbone. Hang it on a nail in the kitchen, above the hearth, or above your altar, or carry it in a mojo bag or pierce it and string it around your neck. You don't have to break it ritualistically for wishes to come true. Using it, intact, as a talisman will also attract wishes, remind you of any resolutions, hopes, and dreams for the new year.
