Color of the day: Yellow
Incense of the day: Marigold Silence is profound. Too often, we are immersed in conversation and verbal interaction, rarely having time to settle down, become quiet, and simply observe. We must make time for this. Sometimes it takes reserving an entire day of silence for the lesson to hit home. When you decide to do this, write a small note card to carry around that says something like: "I am undertaking a one-day vow of silence as a dedication to the gods." Throughout the day, if you are prompted to interact with anyone, you may choose to act in charades or write occasional messages on a sheet of paper. Many truths having to do with the energy exchange of human communication will reveal themselves throughout the day, as you are forced to remain silent, observe, and keep your energy relatively within yourself. You may wish to plan three to seven full days to perform a vow of silence; the lessons that this difficult and often humorous method of fasting can present are absolutely profound. Upon waking the morning after the end of the dedication, situate yourself in front of your altar and vocally chant a word or words of power to break the fast in a sacred manner. |
