Incense of the day: Frankincense What a wonderful day for a picnic! Weather permitting, get together with your friends for an outdoor celebratory ritual, followed by a potluck feast, games, and music. It's almost Lammas (Lughnasah), the feast of the Welsh god Lugh, which was celebrated by games and athletic contests. If you're having a large potluck, instead of the usual, "people whose last names start with A to G brings salads" method, try something different. Have people whose Sun signs are fire signs bring an entree, water signs bring beverages, air signs bring salads, and earth signs bring desserts. For music, try Irish reels or other lively folk dances, which people can dance to by joining hands and going around in a circle. Games can be anything people wish to play, but it's more fun if there are prizes, even if they're from the dollar store or someone's attic. Have fun! |
