Color of the day: Gray Incense of the day: Clary sage In Greek tradition, this is the Day of the Holy Spirit. Sophia is the spirit of female wisdom, a hidden aspect of the Goddess. She often disguises herself as a white dove. The Gnostics call her Hagia Sophia, the Great Mother, and they say she was born from silence. The four steps to mastering magic are: to know, to will, to dare, and to keep silent. Sophia rules over the last step. She is the patron goddess of understanding when to keep your mouth shut, and she reminds us that wisdom is best achieved with "ears open, lips closed." As much as possible, spend this day in silence. Listen instead of speaking. Because Sophia is a hidden goddess, consider placing a shawl or veil over your head while you meditate. At the end of the day, especially, think back over what you have learned. |
