Spring is the season of new life, Lady Day biscuits called "Queen's Biscuits" can be made and shared with family and friends to smooth relations for the year. This recipe makes about six dozen cookies. Ingredients include 4 cups sifted flour, 1 cup sugar, 1 tablespoon baking powder, teaspoon salt, 1 cup shortening, 2 slightly beaten eggs, cup milk and pound sesame seeds. Grease two cookie sheets lightly. In a bowl, sift together flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt. Cut mixture with a pastry blender or two knives until pieces resemble size of small peas. Add shortening, eggs, and milk and form it into dough. Break dough into small pieces and roll each between palms until it is 1 inch in length. Flatten slightly and roll in sesame seeds. Place them on cookie sheets about 3 inches apart. Bake at 375 degrees F for 12 to 15 minutes or until cookies are browned.
