Today is the second to last day of the nine-day Hindu festival of Navaratri. The festival celebrates the warrior goddess Durga, among other forms of the divine feminine in the Hindu tradition. Many devotees either ask for triumph of good over evil or express gratitude for a triumph they have experienced. Use today as a similar opportunity for yourself. You may wish to invoke Durga, and ask for her assistance in overcoming a difficulty you are experiencing or give thanks for something you have been able to rise above and overcome. Gather inspiration from her example as a divine warrior. Pause and recognize the warrior within yourself. A simple way to then show your gratitude and praise to Durga is to offer her incense and repetitive recitations of her mantra: Om Dum Durgayei Namaba! |
