Spell: Illuminating Knowledge from the Past

Color of the Day
Incense of the Day

There are few things more universally loved by esoteric folks than old books. We love books in general, but there is something magickal about old tomes. On this day back in the year 868 AD, a copy of the Diamond Sutra was printed in China, effectively making it the oldest known dated printed book.
Today, pull out a few of your oldest tomes. Try to find ones copywritten or printed before your birth. Contemplate the reasons you have them, and how their content and teachings are important to you. Light a candle invoking the illumination of knowledge, then envision its light surrounding you, enveloping you and the volume before you. Now read a favorite passage that has importance to you from the book, and absorb its wisdom and teaching as you bask in the light of illumination. So mote it be!
