| In ancient Rome, Cybele, the goddess of fertility, was celebrated with wild, orgiastic rites. Take inspiration from the Romans, and tonight celebrate sacred sexuality and creative fertility. Take precautions to protect yourself from pregnancy if that is not desired. Fertility isn't just about children, but about birthing and nurturing our "creative babies," too. Tonight, let the borders between love,sex, and creativity blur.
Whether alone or with a partner, honor and celebrate. While slowly undressing ( your lover or yourself ), admire each body part, gently stroking, whispering: "Beauty honors creativity." Naked, stand before each other (or the mirror), uttering: "Thou art Goddess (or God)." Take time slowly touching and being touched, arousing your lover (or yourself). Move toward the bed, floor, or couch, then pause and invoke: "Cybele, bless us (me) and this sacred act. Our (my) pleasure celebrates fertile creativity. Let our (my) creative babies be born of this divine pleasure." |
