Retirement is a word that may make you jump for joy or strike fear in your heart. On a personal note, today is the day I leave full-time employment to join the ranks of the retired. I plan to garden, improve my home, write, sleep in, work out more, and hone my craft. So many possibilities lie before me.
I have been planning for this day for years. If retirement is not a dirty word to you and you have any thoughts of retirement, today may be the day to lay out more concrete plans. First, pick a date and print it on an eight-by-ten piece of paper. Place the paper over your keyboard or altar or in some prominent place where you will see it every day. Talk about it to others. Begin or continue financial planning. Remember the power of the written and spoken word. Our thoughts make our reality. Say: "Now I begin to "work" for me. As I write, so mote it be." |
