Sunday is ruled by the sun, which astrologers tell us is the "planet" that rules and reveals our way of being in the world. The sun can bring us power, which we must be sure to use wisely. Take time on a Sunday to look at yourself in the solar goddess Amaterasu's sacred mirror and examine your way of being in the world. What do you see? Do you have a sunny disposition or are you bossy and self-involved?
Light gold or yellow candles at your altar and invoke a solar deity. Solar gods include Apollo, Horus, and Balder. Several solar goddesses are given in the May 14 spell. Say: "Bright [name of solar god/dess], shine on me so I may see myself more clearly and as others see me. Enlighten me so that I may shine with the light of kindness and honesty. Help me to bring light into other lives." Extinguish the candles by pinching out the flames (so you don't blow the energy of your spell away) and save them to use for another solar spell. |
