| Magic is like food. There are many different cultures, tastes, and techniques. Tools and ingredients can be obscure and difficult to find, or they can be everyday kitchen items. Preparation can be elaborate or simple. My household is busy, and mealtime is often time to "perform miracles"- to make a five-minute meal that tastes great and nourishes us. Magically, I rely on simple magic I can perform in a crisis-no lengthy preparations or hard-to-find ingredients.
Today, make your own simple magic spell. Take something you do every day ( like showering or drinking tea) and turn it into a magic spell (for protection or invoking clarity and focus). Everyday objects and practices can anchor our consciousness, facilitate self-awareness, and remind us of our ability to choose change. Like a hot meal when you're hungry and tired, simple magic can transform energy. At the end of a long day, if it ain't simple, it won't work. |
