LLEWELLYN'S SPELL-A-DAY

Spell: Old-School Divination Spell

Color of the Day
Incense of the Day

Today marks the anniversary of the founding of the Theosophical Society by Helena Blavatsky and a group of other occultists. Blavatsky's books, including Isis Unveiled, were important influences in the early days of the modern occult revival movement. Occultism permeates Wicca and other Pagan traditions, particularly in divination practices. One of the most tried-and true divinatory methods is the tarot. This spell will help you connect with the tarot's wisdom.

Take your tarot deck and meditate on an important question. Choose one card. Study it intently and make a drawing utilizing the symbols of the card, but place yourself (or your name) in the drawing too. Put this paper on your altar to charge it, and then by your bedside before bedtime. Meditate on the card's symbolism before you sleep. Keep a notebook and pen by the bed in case you have insights about your dreams upon awakening. Do this each night for three days, choosing a different card each time. Tarot symbolism in dreams is considered very magically potent and significant.
