| For those of you lucky enough to own a guitar, today is the day to get it out and put it to use. Clean and tune. Strum and stroke. It's a Monday, so play some Monday blues or some music to make Monday bearable. Minerva and Apollo are said to be the patrons of music, and Saint Cecilia is often depicted with a stringed instrument. Choose one deity to honor and light a candle or stick of incense as you play. Offer up gratitude for your musical ability. When you are done, put the guitar away with care and dignity. For those not so blessed with talent? Try one of the music streaming sources-find a station of guitar music of any kind to suit your mood (classical, Spanish, jazz, blues, rock), light some candles, and settle in. Music soothes the savage breast. Your soul will be better for it. Say:
"Music soothes me, energizes me, enters me. Make me whole, inspire and cleanse me. Notes float into the universe for all to heal." |
