It’s said that lots of little things add up to something big. Magic is like that. You don’t always have to do big spells and special rituals.
Saturdays are my favorite day to do tiny pleasure magic. While my teenager sleeps in, I slip out to the farmers’ market to buy fresh bread, vegetables, fruit, and coffee. I visit with local farmers, friends, and neighbors. I walk to the grocery store for fresh milk and eggs, and the local bakery for croissants or Danishes. Then I amble slowly home, feeling rich. I make a feast. Sitting on the deck, in the sun or under the umbrella, I drink and eat slowly, knowing all the tiny pleasures I enjoy in my community, at home, with my family, and within myself. Life is good. Today, do your mundane tasks consciously, with enjoyment. Let your tiny pleasures add up to big magic. |
